Why did you choose to work in family law?

I chose family law because I believe that it is important to help those when needed. Divorce is a very emotional issue and a lot of times, people just want someone to listen to them. Our clients count on us to be there for them. This is also a chance to watch our client’s grow as individuals as they start to find who they are as an individual away from someone who they once shared a life with.

Greatest fulfillment in family law?

Watching each individual client have that relief when a divorce is finalized.

How do you get away from stress and separate work and home life?

To get away from stress, I like to go walking or running, I believe that in order to get away from stress it starts with your mentality and walking and running helps me as there is no thinking involved to do so.Put some good songs on and go. Separating work life and home life it is important to remember that anything that happens outside of the office is left outside. You don’t want to bring the issues of home life into work as that will affect your work product.This is the same for when you leave the office, you leave everything at the office and not to bring home.

I enjoy being with family and friends.

What do you like about Sterk Family Law?

I enjoy Sterk Family Law Group because it’s not just about having a job in family law. We really strive to be there for our clients. It is also a learning experience as every day there is something that we learn from each other whether it’s technology or court related.I also work with a bunch of really cool ladies!

Favorite Holiday? 

Christmas for sure. I enjoy watching my nieces (and now daughter) get to open their presents and see the joy on their faces when they get the toys and gifts that they wanted. I also enjoy just being around family.
