Why do you work in Family Law?

Working in my main career before Sterk Family Law, as a Deputy Clerk at the Will County Circuit Clerk’soffice in the courtroom gave me a passion for litigants as they struggled through the courtsystem to getto the end of a difficult time in their life. That passion led me to work with Gwen’s firm after I retiredfrom there, as I saw the same passion and drive in this firm and my co-workers. I can assist our clientsthrough their first step in tackling the financial affidavit and discovery work with a true passion to assistand comfort them through this difficult process.

What is your greatest fulfillment in working in family law?

Satisfaction in seeing our clients get to the end and starting a new beginning.

How do you get away from stress and separate your work from your home life?

Honestly, it is difficult at the end of the day to not take a piece of the clients emotions/life/situation withme at the end of my day, for me, It is best to get out and do some physical training or work, running,biking, walking, kick boxing, I love to be physical and push my limits to be able to be fresh with myself,my mind and body and ready to hit it the next day.

Who is your Hero?

Without a doubt My mother JanetMavis Tate Richardson. The toughest lady I know on earth. Herstrength, wisdom and determination is one of admiration for myself and others. She is a true hero.

What is your favorite quote?

I honestly do not have one. I go by my own quotes, which vary from day to day. Today it is “Live like there is no tomorrow.”

What do you do in your spare time?

Too much to list! But I love to volunteer with hospice, and I am an outdoors person, so I am always outwalking, discovering, and enjoying the outdoors life, allseasons, all year long.

What is your favorite holiday and why?

For sure Thanksgiving, the Holiday everyone gathers, toenjoy good times, fellowship, great food,and yummy desserts!
