Why did you choose to work in Family Law?
While my past work experience was primarily focused in other practice areas, I believe that family law embedded its way unto me at a time I least expected. Having experienced a tumultuous divorce personally, while working in a family practice (early on) was humbling and eye-opening. I hope my experience and knowledge both personally and professionally can help guide as many clients in their journeys as it has since steered me and my family.

What is your greatest fulfillment in working in family law?
Contributing to a client’s newfound sense of empowerment and dynamic relative to their family life while embracing many new beginnings. We all have a journey, and it is important to remember who was there, and who didn’t let you ride alone.

How do you get away from stress and separate your work from your home life?

It’s important for me to create and maintain time for myself, family and friends. I appreciate every moment in my life with my loved ones…I enjoy being outdoors, on a family walk or individual run any chance the Sun is bright and shining but I also relish catching up on Netflix, cooking, and baking, reading and writing with my little ones when the day brings on rain or snow.

Who is your hero?

My three beautiful sons — they inspire me every day to be resilient, thoughtful, and grateful.

What is your favorite quote?

“If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it.”

What do you do in your spare time?

I spend time with my three sons anywhere adventure calls us. I also teach catechism to school-age children every other year. When my friends call me for a friendly match, I play indoor/outdoor tennis. I enjoy learning new languages — I am currently learning Russian (I speak, read, and write Italian, Spanish, and Serbian).

What do you like about working at Sterk Family Law Group, P.C.

While every day brings different challenges we can learn from, working here offers opportunities to learn and gain different skills and approaches nestled in a supportive, collaborative environment surrounded by experienced, astute, and compassionate work colleagues. Since the day I first started working at Sterk Family Law Group, it has felt like my home away from home. I am grateful to be a part of this family too.

I love Easter! This is a meaningful and comforting time to celebrate peaceful victory, renew hope, and welcome new beginnings.

If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?

An Arctic Wolf — wolves educate their young, take care of their injured, and live in family groups.
